Born and bred in Blackpool I ended up down south after completing a degree in Textile Art at Winchester School of Art. After a stint in the world of publishing (Telos Textile Art Books) I decided to have a go a teaching. I was very lucky to get my first position as Head of Textiles in a Secondary and Sixth Form College in Newbury. After three years I am still loving it and building up my textile empire.
I very rarely have time to create my own work, I struggle to stick to one thing, so I have several projects on the go at once. I suppose it is a kind of textiles ADHD!
I have recently become obsessed with knitting and this has led me to start a knitting group (Knit Happens in Newbury) at Borders Bookstore in the Retail Park. A member of the group pointed me in the direction of blogging and this has led me to create one for the group and one of my own.
I am constantly searching for others who share my obsession with anything 'textiley' and look forward to finally showing the world what I do.
